Before we dive in, I want to tell you that your photographer should be able to capture beautiful images on your wedding day no matter the situation! They should be able to work well in any lighting situation and any timeline crunch! These tips and tricks are simply little changes that can be made for an ideal photography-friendly wedding day.
Recommended Time: 30 minutes
On a wedding day, details are typically the first thing I photograph. I usually arrive soon after makeup is completed, say hi, and get started!
1. Gather in Advance!
Instead of the photographer having to interrupt last minute preparations for help gathering your details, try to have them all prepared and in one place beforehand.
Here are some potential items to gather. The more you bring, the better:
The dress
The 3 rings
Bride's shoes
Bride's jewelry
Bridal Bouquett
Spare flowers
The vows
2 copies of a wedding invitation (include all envelopes + any other pretty paper)
Bridesmaid dresses
Any family heirlooms you're incorporating
Watches
Bibles
Perfume bottles
Wedding day alcohol
Any gifts to/from family and friends
2. Have a Wooden Hanger
This is for a shot of your wedding dress hanging. A wooden hanger adds a sense of luxury and beauty that a plastic hanger just cannot!
3. Give us time for these!!!
I believe that the people present are the most important part of any wedding, so for the rest of your special day, I will be focusing on capturing you. But this time for details is my opportunity to do justice to all the work you've put into wedding planning! These detail shots will really capture the unique style of your unique planning.
