Wedding magazines make you think about how to have a "pretty" wedding. But pretty isn't an emotion.
Anyone present at your wedding cares about you and is going to be happy to support you and see you happy. But they're going even happier if you don't throw a boring party. Here's a few way to have an incredible guest-conscious party!
1. Do a first look
Your couple photos are indescribably important, and they take time. If you don't allocate enough time to taking couple portraits, you're going to feel and look rushed, not get enough variety of shots, and regret it after the wedding day is over.
If you opt for a first look, you can spend less time away from your guests in between the ceremony and reception. And then you can spend as much time as possible with all the people who took the time to come out and support you on your wedding day.
2. Feed your guests on time
People are going to be happier if they're well fed. However, reconsider the three-course dinner and think about buffets, family style dining, food trucks, etc. Fancy formal dinners are awesome, but they can monopolize a lot of the reception time and take away from other party activities.
3. Write your own vows/speeches
Weddings are more interesting if they're personalized. Writing and sharing your own words is a great way to captivate your guests. They're simply going to care more if they get to hear about your love story.
4. Skip the receiving line
Instead opt for the bride and groom to go to each individual table while your guests are eating. This is a much more efficient and simple way to greet every guest present.
5. Surprises
These are just super entertaining. Denae and her father started out with a sentimental daddy-daughter dance, but then the music changed and they jammed to thriller.
6. Have fun yourself
Your guests will bounce off of your energy. So if you're smiling, they won't be able to help themselves from doing the same.
