We can't control the weather. I book up months in advance, so rescheduling your photo session because of rain can be difficult. If it's an option though, I'm sympathetic! But if it isn't, don't worry. As a professional photographer, it's my job is to make you look good no matter the situation.
Running around in the rain can be epic fun with the right attitude. There are a few big perks to a rainy session.
1. Cool reflections
2. Less people outside & therefore in our background
3. Epic clouds/skies. Especially if it clears up mid-session!
4. I love night rain photography
When it's dark out, you can use a flash and really see all those rain drops coming down and it's amazingggg
But a rainy photoshoot does require some preparation and expectations that a sunny session does that. Here are a few tips to make sure you make the most of your rainy day session!
1. Waterproof makeup
The last thing you want is to look like the Matchmaker from Mulan.
2. Have a clear umbrella
A clear umbrella looks high-end. It'll keep you dry without being distracting from the real subject of the photo... you!
3. You will get a little wet. Roll with it
We'll keep you as dry as possible for the majority of the session to preserve hair and makeup. But at the end the session, it's a lot of fun to just go all out and enjoy the rain.
